What are the food delivery options in Tokyo now? We currently have more choices than ever before now that Uber Eats and other new business started its service in Tokyo and the surrounding prefectures.
Traditional delivery options in Japan are sushi, rice bowl dishes (Tendon, Unadon, Oyakodon and more), and noodles (Soba, Udon, Ramen). Pizza, fast food (burgers, fried chicken, french fries), and lunch boxes (Bento) are also very common. You can reach out to more options using online ordering websites such as Uber Eats, fineDine, Demaekan, Rakuten Delivery and more. It is unfortunate that some websites are still only in Japanese – just give us a quick call or a chat message, and we will arrange everything for you.
For those who are not familiar with traditional Japanese food delivery, if the food come with dishes or containers that are not disposable, you are required to clean and put them in front of your door after you finish, just like in the picture below. The delivery staff will come again to pick them up.
Sometimes cooking for yourself or eating outside can just be too much trouble. Ordering food can make your life easier, and keep in mind you do have a lot to choose from.
Need more ideas or options in a day to day living in Japan? We will be there for you even for a quick question!
