According to a recent announcement, a new Studio Ghibli entertainment park will be opened by 2022 in Aichi, where the Expo took place back in 2005.
Studio Ghibli is nationally popular within Japan – but is also acknowledged worldwide for its fabulous work – My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, just to list a few.
For those interested to visit a museum, they have an official museum in Mitaka, the west side of Tokyo. Don’t forget to purchase a ticket beforehand because reservations are strictly required. Tickets are available at Lawson ticket, so let us know if you need a hand.
Another option is in Izu – a popular tourist site in southern Shizuoka. Izu is a 2.5 hour drive destination from central Tokyo and its ocean transparency attracts professional divers throughout the country.
“My Neighbor Totoro Event” held at Izu Teddy Bear Museum might interest Japanese cartoon film lovers – good to stop by if you have a chance visiting the area!
You will find a giant Totoro floating in the air and get on the Catbus to enjoy the comfortable seats.
If you know the whole story, it’s even more fun and enjoyable to look at a lot of scenes reproduced at the exhibition.
