Utsunomiya is well known as a jazz town.
Some popular jazz musicians are from this town, such as Sadao Watanabe, Yoshio Toyama, Haruhiko Takauchi(Haru Takauchi) and so on. Therefore, there are at least 19 live houses in Utsunomiya, where you can enjoy drinks and foods with jazz music which remains in your heart.
Utsunomiya Jazz Association which was established in 2002 is holding “Utsunomiya Jazz Cruising vol 3” on Nov. 4th this year.
This is the third cruising this year. With a ticket, you can cruise around all 19 jazz live houses without music charge (you are supposed to order at least one drink, though.)

Besides jazz music, there are more to see in Utsunomiya.
You can enjoy the beautiful autumn view in Shinrin Park.
You can rent bikes to go around in this huge park. And also, there is a lodging facility to spend a night with reasonable fee. Reservations for this facility start five months ahead of the date you want to stay.
Talking about Utsunomiya, I cannot skip Gyoza, Chinese dumplings.
Fried Gyoza and boiled Gyoza are both good and I rather take both not to regret,
Utsunomiya is 150km away from Tokyo and it is such a nice place to stretch your wings.
