Kyoto Arashiyama Hanatouro 2017

“Kyoto Arashiyama Hanatouro “will be held from 8th to 17th of December.

“Hana “means flower and “Touro” means lights on pathways. They have had the events from 2005. There are two “ Hana touro “events in Kyoto. One is Higashiyama Hanatouro, Kiyomizudera temple area, in March and another is the Arashiyama Hanatouro in December. Kyoto is one of the most popular place to visit both international and domestic tourists. However before cherry blossoms and after autumn leaves, the city becomes quieter. “Hanatouro “project has launched as new charming night spots. According to the official report, more than one million people visited Arashiyama Hanatouro in 2016.More than 50% visitors were from Kansai region included Kyoto city citizens and 12.7% visitors were from overseas.I went Higashiyama’s event with my colleague in March. It was really beautiful and luckily not too cold for early spring Kyoto.

For people who are extremely sensitive to cold, like me, let’s look for footbath and hot food stalls near Arashiyama station

Please check further update about the event on the website.
