We Japanese love onsen, or hot springs especially in autumn and winter. Some onsen inns have outdoor onsen to enjoy the nature while you are in nicely hot water.
I would like to introduce Ginzan onsen in Yamagata prefecture. 
This is the onsen famous for its fantastic view.
Have you ever seen, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (“Spirited Away” in Eng), the movie of Hayao Miyazaki?
This onsen town looks like the town in the movie.
Chihiro, nine year old girl was lost in a strange village after her parents were cursed to be pigs because they kept on eating foods on the table of someone else’s place in the village. She found an inn and started working there, hoping she can get her parents back…
In the onsen inn, she met some strange fairies and apparitions.
In this onsen town, you may feel like you are lost in the movie like Chihiro.
There is no apparitions in this town, but there is no limit on your imagination.
When it snows, it must be too beautiful to leave the town.
In those inns, you can enjoy excellent Japanese course including popular Yamagata beef.
In restaurants in the town, you better try noodle with beef.
Ginzan onsen is the good place to soak yourself into onsen and fantastic memories.
