Japanese Curry

Curry in Japan is very different from Indian curry. It is a Japanese soul food, very easy and quick to cook.

Here is a common recipe for 4 dishes of Japanese curry.

Ingredients: 140g Curry blocks, 150g Chicken Leg, 1 Onion, 1 Potato, 1/2 Carrot, Water 600ml, and some Salad Oil

  1. Cut chicken, onion, potato, and carrot into bite sizes.
  2. Heat the pot and fry the ingredients in 1
  3. Add water, boil and remove the scum. Boil thoroughly and stew for about 15 mins.
  4. Remove from heat and add curry blocks. Simmer over low heat for about 10 mins to add thickness.

You can use beef or pork instead of chicken, or even add other vegetables of your own choice to customize. Personally I usually add some cheese to make richer taste 🙂

Curry and rice is one of the favorite home cooked dinner choices in Japan. Why not give it a try?
